Her Story
Sarah Garcia-Rubio is a first-generation Mexican-American life coach, keynote speaker, and 30-year veteran of the beauty industry based in Berkeley, California. She started cutting hair at 12 years old in her family home, became a mother at 15, and tested out of high school at 16 to attend beauty school — committed to building a different future.
Licensed by 19, managing a 14-chair salon by 21, purchasing her first home at 23. At 27, she faced the perfect storm: foreclosure on two properties, bankruptcy, and divorce — all in one year. She didn't stop. She rebuilt.
In 2009 she invested in coaching and personal development. She survived the loss of her son Antonio in 2016, pandemic shutdowns, and a 2023 flood that destroyed her home. Each time: grief, then rebuild.
Today she owns Mayahuel Beauty Salon alongside her daughter, holds certifications as a life and mindset coach, invests in real estate, and is the founder of Conscious Wealth Lifestyle Program. Her message is hard-won: your circumstances don't define your ceiling. Your decisions do.
